As a floor, earth can be seen as an abstract surface. If apparently level, with just enough slope for drainage, it is ready to be covered with paving, grass, ground cover, or other planting, which is necessary to prevent dust in dry weather and mud in wet weather; if sloping or irregular, earthwork may be necessary to conform to new construction or to the design plan, to provide adequate drainage, or in order to relate properly to neighbouring topography and views. 1, record 1, English, - neighbouring%20views

1, record 1, French, - vue%20sur%20le%20site%20environnant

A coon foot is sometimes presented as being simply a broken forward digit axis, and sometimes, while still a broken forward axis, as a digit with a pastern at a very low angle, parallel or nearly parallel to the ground. One may presume that in this condition heels will lower and toe will elongate; this is associated with a weak pastern, damage to the suspensory ligament or chronic founder where the horse rocks back on the heels to relieve pressure at the toe. 3, record 4, English, - coon%20foot

From the milling separator, the grain passes to a gravity separator. This machine separates materials that may be similar in shape and size but that differ in specific gravity, such as wheat and small stones. Uncleaned wheat is "floated" on a metal screen which is oscillating rapidly. The grain moves down the sloping screen to the outlet while the stones are propelled toward the head of the screen by the oscillating movement, and collected separately. Although only a very small percentage of stones may be present, their removal is important since they cause extensive damage to processing machinery.

Slope stakes are set on lines perpendicular to the centerline(one on each side), at the points where the cut and fill slopes intersect the natural ground surface. The sloping of the slope stakes outward allows the eqpt to work to the stake without removing it, indicates the direction of the centerline of the road, and enables the eqpt operators to read the stakes more easily. Slope stakes are placed at 30 M intervals on tangents and at 20 M intervals on horizontal or vertical curves. Wherever a sharp break in the original ground profile occurs, it should also be staked. 3, record 15, English, - slope%20stake

3, record 15, French, - piquet%20de%20terrassement
