A slot canyon is a narrow crevice sliced through a mesa by rushing water. Some canyons measure less than a yard across at the top but drop a hundred feet or more from the rim to the natural floor. Ce «slot» canyon [d'Antelope] est en fait un défilé large de 2 mètres et long de 200 mètres. Les parois de grès rouge, hautes d'une quarantaine de mètres, sont étonnamment sculptées, rappelant des voiles flottant au vent.
