To penetrate a target, KE projectiles rely on velocity and not an explosive charge.... Historical research indicates that KE projectiles are responsible for forty percent of tanks knocked out in battle. Because KE projectiles are normally fired at very high velocity, they have a very flat trajectory(flight path), a decreased time of flight, and increased hit probability. The effectiveness of KE projectiles decreases at longer ranges, since the projectiles slow down during long flights. 4, record 1, English, - kinetic%20energy%20projectile

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A generic term used to describe any soft, relatively slow and delicate shot hit with very little pace or depth low over the net and usually at an acute angle, but also at the feet of an opponent if he is inside the service court area. Used especially to neutralize the effectiveness of volleying attacks. 2, record 2, English, - dink
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Although a "chip shot" is usually shallow, forcing an opponent to move quickly forward to hit up on a low ball right into the waiting hands of the attacker, the term is not entirely synonymous with "dink". The latter is more generic in that it may refer to any shallow shot hit with much or very little spin. Moreover, it usually implies a certain degree of ruse and deception with the use of body language unlike the neutrality of the term "chip". "Dinker" is the slang term often heard on the courts. 2, record 2, English, - dink

Thermal neutrons are those that have been slowed down by a moderator to speeds characteristic of the local temperature. 4, record 3, English, - thermal%20neutron
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The moderators consist of nuclei which are light and don’t absorb neutrons. The neutrons hit the moderator, and bounce off, but in the process they lose a little energy. After enough such bounces, the neutrons are no faster than expected from their temperature. They are called "thermal neutrons" to reflect the fact that they have slowed down to thermal velocities. In summary : Fast neutrons bounce off the moderator and become thermal(slow) neutrons. 5, record 3, English, - thermal%20neutron

4, record 3, French, - neutron%20thermique
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
4, record 3, French, - neutron%20thermique
