Yellow Flame. This flame has a small blue-colored area at the bottom of the flame. The outer portion, or outer envelope, is completely yellow and is usually smoking. This smoke is unburned carbon from the fuel. The yellow, or luminous, portion of the flame is caused by the slow burning of the carbon that is being burnt. Soot is the outcome of the yellow flame which also produces a lower temperature than does the blue flame. The yellow flame is an indication of insufficient primary air. Incomplete combustion is also indicated by a yellow flame a hazardous condition that cannot be allowed. 1, record 3, English, - yellow%20flame

Record 3, Textual support, French
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 3, French, - flamme%20blanche
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 3 CONT
2, record 3, French, - flamme%20blanche
