La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que la forma árbitra es la apropiada para construir el femenino del sustantivo masculino árbitro, tal y como recoge el Diccionario académico. En cuanto al artículo que le corresponde, el Diccionario panhispánico de dudas señala que en el caso de árbitra y de otros sustantivos que se refieren a seres sexuados que han comenzado a usarse en femenino en los últimos años (la árabe, la ácrata), se muestra una clara preferencia por el femenino. Por lo tanto, se recomienda el uso de la árbitra. Esta recomendación se hace extensible a los artículos indefinidos una, alguna y ninguna y a cualquier elemento que tenga que concordar con esta forma (alguna árbitra, la veterana árbitra). [...] No obstante, y a pesar de que el uso con el artículo en masculino (el árbitra) no tiene tradición alguna, su utilización no podría censurarse, por analogía con los sustantivos femeninos que al comenzar con a tónica sí lo llevan (el área, el agua, el aya, etc.), siempre que entre ambos no se interponga otra palabra. 5, record 2, Spanish, - %C3%A1rbitro
