Conversation analysis is characterized by the view that how talk is produced, and how the meanings of talk are determined, are the practical, social and interactional accomplishments of members of a culture. Talk is not seen simply as the product of two "speaker-hearers" who attempt to exchange information or convey messages to each other. Rather, participants in conversation are seen as mutually orienting to, and collaborating in order to achieve, orderly and meaningful communication. At least in part, the aim of CA is thus to reveal the organized reasoning procedures which inform the production of naturally occurring talk. 2, record 3, English, - conversation%20analysis

The Government of Canada therefore places an emphasis on working in cooperation and collaboration with provincial and territorial governments. Examples of this include the Federal Provincial Territorial/Aboriginal(FPTA) Forum, established in 1998, and the Social Union Framework Agreement(SUFA), signed in February 1999. The FPTA includes an agreement to meet at least once a year to review work undertaken to address Aboriginal issues in the most effective manner. Participants agreed that working together in the spirit of cooperation to address the social and economic challenges facing Aboriginal people is an important step in the formation of a positive environment to address issues of mutual concern. The goals of the FPTA are to achieve practical results through cooperative initiatives, provide increased communication and information-sharing and facilitate consideration of Aboriginal interests within government. 1, record 41, English, - Federal%2FProvincial%2FTerritorial%2FAboriginal%20Forum

1, record 41, French, - Forum%20f%C3%A9d%C3%A9ral%2Dprovincial%2Dterritorial%2Dautochtone

May 17. World Telecommunications Day 2005 marks two important anniversaries for ITU. It will be 140 years since we began helping the world communicate. From the birth of the telegraph, through radio and television broadcasting to satellite communications and the Internet, the work of ITU has helped harness the power of science and technology to fulfill a basic human need for communication. However, 20 years ago, we realized that not all people were sharing in the social and economic benefits that telecommunications creates. 1, record 49, English, - World%20Telecommunications%20Day

One is education. Or what Sweden's Ylva Johansson referred to as the "knowledge divide". A very large percentage of teachers in the developing world-indeed, many in the developed world-do not have the knowledge themselves to teach the basic operating skills for information and communication technologies to their students. The challenge is not simply one of getting enough computers to the classroom. It is a problem of human software. The knowledge divide is a particularly dangerous challenge, because in middle class and poor countries the knowledge divide perpetuates social exclusion, and in the most basic way blocks any hope for individual empowerment in the communications revolution. 1, record 50, English, - knowledge%20divide

2, record 53, French, - apprentissage%20essentiel%20commun

This technique was originally used in psychotherapy to assist persons with difficulties in forming personal relationships. Behaviors between people (transactions) are analyzed and categorized into three ego states: parent, adult, and child (PAC). Transactions are satisfactory if the behavior of one person is responded to with the corresponding ego state of another. For example, adult-adult is considered satisfactory. Transactions that are crossed (parent-child) may cause behavioral problems. TA is a relatively new technique for organizational development but is being used at the time of writing by several companies interested in improving the relationships between employees and customers. 1, record 66, English, - transactional%20analysis
