The processes used for salting cod are generally the same in most areas and time periods, with some local variations. The colonial New England cod fishery is typical. Cod was either "dry cured" or "green cured. "For a dry cure, fish were usually cleaned, split, salted, and then stored aboard ship after each haul so they would not deteriorate at sea. Once the the ship returned to shore, the fish would be repacked, resalted, and eventually sun dried into tough, durable slabs that could be stacked and stored like wood. Dry curing was used when fishers traveled long distances to fishing grounds. In contrast, green curing, in which the fish were cleaned, salted, and dried on land rather than at sea, was used on shorter trips to nearby fishing grounds.... Because it was a faster process, green curing did not wring as much water out of the fish as dry curing. Green-cured fish therefore was considered to be of lower quality and did not last as long. 3, record 1, English, - green%20fish

All used nuclear fuel in Canada is currently held on site in interim storage facilities, which are safe, secure and environmentally sound. Interim storage of used nuclear fuel at a nuclear facility typically consists of two phases known as wet storage and dry storage. Initially, used nuclear fuel bundles are stored under water in bays or pools after they have been removed from the reactors. These reinforced, leak-proof facilities enable the fuel to cool off in a shielded and secure facility. After 6 to 10 years in wet storage, the used nuclear fuel can be safely transferred to dry storage in concrete canisters, containers or silos. 1, record 7, English, - dry%20storage

Dry Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel. Spent nuclear fuel is a highly radioactive material that is a byproduct of the fission of uranium in commercial nuclear power plants. Currently, spent nuclear fuel is stored in pools of water at most nuclear power plants. By designing equipment for spent nuclear fuel dry storage, the need for maintaining high cost pools can be eliminated. Designing efficient fuel dry storage equipment using Fluent's suite of CFD software enables reduction of costs while maintaining safety. Decommissioning the spent fuel storage pools can, over time, save millions of dollars in overhead costs. 1, record 9, English, - fuel%20dry%20storage

... the Waste Collection System(WCS) operates differently from the facilities on Earth. The WCS comprises a commode, a urinal, fan separators, and an odor and bacterial filter. To keep bodies from floating away due to weightlessness, astronauts fasten a seat belt-like strap or lower a bar over their legs and wedge their feet into footholds. Space toilets flush with air instead of water, and the fan helps separate liquids from solids. Liquids are purified and recycled for re-use, just as they are on Earth. Plastic bags inside the commode collect wastes, and are sealed and stored. The WCS also has storage areas for towels, wash cloths, urinal funnels, wet and dry wipes, tissues, disposable gloves, and trash bags. 2, record 15, English, - waste%20collection%20system

4, record 16, French, - toilettes
