Underrepresentation occurs when a given group is less represented in a subpopulation than they are within the larger population as a whole. In practice, this might mean, for example, a certain ethnicity comprising forty percent of the population, but only ten percent of the CEOs [chief executive officers] in a given country. As another example, imagine ten percent of a country's population has learning differences, but only one percent of that group receives any higher education. 3, record 1, English, - under%2Drepresentation

(Method using) plastic plates sensitized with antigen or antibody. Mixtures of cells are incubated on the plate and cells with receptors for the sensitizing agent bind to it. A subpopulation of lymphoid stem cells differentiates along T-cell lineage to become pre-T cells. These migrate to the thymus cell, where they become thymocytes then acquire different cell-surface antigen markers and functionally differentiate into subpopulations of T helper(inducer) cells, T suppressor cells, and T cytotoxic(killer) cells. These cells are involved in the regulation of the immune response and the manifestations of cell-mediated immunity. 1, record 6, English, - pre%2DT%20cell

Several neuropeptides are widely distributed in regions of the central nervous system(CNS) which are associated with cognitive functions. Multiple studies on postmortem Alzheimer's disease(AD) brains have shown depleted neuropeptide content and morphological abnormalities of somatostatin(SS)-containing interneurons in the hippocampus and the cerebral cortex... AD patients were found to have reduced 125I-Tyr11-SS-14 receptor densities in the frontal cortex,.. Excitotoxic lesion of the nucleus basalis magnocellularis(NbM) with ibotenic acid transiently decreased neocortical SS receptor binding densities indicating that a subpopulation of SS receptors is located on cholinergic afferents... 1, record 7, English, - nucleus%20basalis%20magnocellularis
