An alternative newspaper is a type of newspaper that eschews comprehensive coverage of general news in favour of stylized reporting, opinionated reviews and columns, investigations into edgy topics and magazine-style feature stories highlighting local people and culture. Its news coverage is more locally focused, and [its] target audiences are younger than those of daily newspapers. 3, record 1, English, - alternative%20newspaper

In 2003, $32M were dedicated over five years toward the development and implementation of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch Targeted Immunization Strategy(FNIHB-TIS) to increase immunization coverage rates and ensure access to newly recommended vaccines. The goal of the program is to provide a strategy that integrates with the Canadian national immunization strategy, resulting in the reduced incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases and their sequelae by March 2008. The objectives of the program are to : Improve the coverage rates for routine immunizations in the targeted population of FN children under six years of age living on-reserve, and move towards the international immunization coverage target of 95%; Implement newly recommended vaccines(conjugate pneumococcal, conjugate meningococcal C, and varicella [chickenpox]) across the country or the targeted population ;Improve the data and understanding of immunization coverage rates, the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases, barriers to immunization and best practices in implementation. 1, record 3, English, - Targeted%20Immunization%20Strategy

The creeping line pattern is used when : a) the search area is narrow, long, and fairly level, b) the probable location of the target is thought to be on either side of the search track within two points, or c) there is a need for immediate coverage of one end of the search area. 3, record 7, English, - creeping%20line%20pattern

Parallel track search. This procedure is normally used when :(a) the search area is large and fairly level;(b) only the approximate location of the target is known; and(c) a uniform coverage is desired. The aircraft proceeds to a corner of the search area and, flying at the allotted height, sweeps the area maintaining parallel tracks, the first of which is at a distance equal to the sweep width from the side of the rectangular area. Successive tracks are flown parallel to each other but at twice the sweep width apart. 1, record 8, French, - ratissage%20par%20passes%20parall%C3%A8les

RADARSAT ScanSAR Beam Modes : A ScanSAR beam mode is composed of either two, three, or four single beams. The sequence of beams is organized so that the data is collected from a larger area, than what can be collected using a single beam. The ability to "steer" the radar beam using different incidence angles increases the frequency of repeat coverage. For the ScanSAR beam modes, the radar backscatter decrease resulting from incidence angle differences within the image range should be considered before interpreting the image brightness of a specific target. Incidence angle corrections should be applied on the data before making a direct comparison of image brightness values from different Standard beam mode images. 2, record 9, English, - ScanSAR%20beam%20mode

Up till then, immunization programmes were largely restricted to industrialized countries, and even then only partially implemented. (...), the MTD [Moving Target Detection] principle involves dividing up the entire radar coverage area into small range-azimuth cells-(...) called ’coherent processing intervals’(CPI). Eight pulses generated at a constant repetition frequency are assigned to each cell, and each return is subjected to Doppler filtering over a range of velocity values. The particular feature of MTD is its ability to measure the density of clutter and to detect the sudden presence of an additional element-such as an aircraft moving into a particular cell-even though it may have zero relative velocity on account of its tangential track. 1, record 17, English, - coherent%20processing%20interval

1, record 17, French, - intervalle%20de%20traitement%20coh%C3%A9rent
