The image processing consisted in generating intensity images and one coherence image. To facilitate their analysis and interpretation, a coloured composition has been created with the results. This composition is obtained by adding the coherence image in red, the average of both images phase intensities in green and the difference between these phase intensities in blue. As such, a high coherence level(value close to 1) appears in red and indicates a very good phase correlation between the two images, a consequence of the various mechanisms of radar signal scattering and of the lack of change which could affect the target. On the contrary, a weak coherence level(value tending to 0) appears in black and indicates a movement in these zones during the 24 hours interval which separated the two image shots. Lastly, the white spots correspond to areas with a strong radar signal backscattering i. e. with zones of hills or vegetation. 3, record 5, English, - colour%20composition

Imagery Exploitation System (IES). Modernized Imagery Exploitation System (MIES). MIES is a Corps and EAC tactical imagery exploitation system capable of receiving, processing, and disseminating national and theater imagery. The MIES provides first phase imagery exploitation for the Indications and Warnings (I&W) missions of Army users. The system provides IMINT reports and Secondary Imagery Dissemination (SID) through an extensive communications section. It travels with its own satellite communications (SATCOM) system that provides the relayed national imagery through the Defense Dissemination System (DDS). 2, record 9, English, - imagery%20exploitation%20system

When both the amplitude and the phase information are available, it is possible to synthesize the polarization response for all the polarization states. To synthesize the response, phase information and two orthogonal(transmit and receive) polarization states are required. For example, most spaceborne SAR's(e. g. RADARSAT-2) use the HH and VV polarization configuration to satisfy the orthogonality condition. Three dimensional polarization response plots are typically used to illustrate the polarimetry response for a given target. The following conventions are commonly used : The radar response is normalized between 0 and 1 [. ] The horizontal axes are the ellipticity angle... and the orientation angle... The ellipticity angle ranges between-45°(right circularly polarized) and +45°(left circularly polarized). When [ellipticity angle equals 0°, we have linear polarization. The orientation angle... is usually defined between-90° and +90°, but is sometimes defined between 0° and +180°. 2, record 12, English, - ellipticity%20angle

In order to make the plan workable it was necessary to change the civil defence area organization. Instead of three defensive areas, there were now four :Target Areas... Target Support Areas-These included the area lying immediately beyond 25 miles of probable ground zero. The resident population of this area would not evacuate, and it would receive the components of the Target Area Civil Defence forces who would evacuate. Phase ’C'operations would be conducted by civil defence forces in the communities of the Target Support Area. Reception Areas... Standfast Areas... 1, record 15, English, - target%20support%20area
