The total mortality rate estimated from the lengths in the scientific surveys, the number of fishing days of a fleet per season, the percentage of immature individuals as well as the amount of gear per fishing area are indicators of fishing pressure on a population. For example, a mean total mortality rate estimated during a period when fishing would not have had an impact on the health of the population can serve as a target reference point. Recommendations aimed at reducing the level of withdrawal can then be issued when this target reference is exceeded. 2, record 3, English, - fishing%20pressure

2, record 3, French, - pression%20de%20p%C3%AAche

In 2003, $32M were dedicated over five years toward the development and implementation of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch Targeted Immunization Strategy(FNIHB-TIS) to increase immunization coverage rates and ensure access to newly recommended vaccines. The goal of the program is to provide a strategy that integrates with the Canadian national immunization strategy, resulting in the reduced incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases and their sequelae by March 2008. The objectives of the program are to : Improve the coverage rates for routine immunizations in the targeted population of FN children under six years of age living on-reserve, and move towards the international immunization coverage target of 95%; Implement newly recommended vaccines(conjugate pneumococcal, conjugate meningococcal C, and varicella [chickenpox]) across the country or the targeted population ;Improve the data and understanding of immunization coverage rates, the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases, barriers to immunization and best practices in implementation. 1, record 13, English, - Targeted%20Immunization%20Strategy

1, record 13, French, - Strat%C3%A9gie%20d%27immunisation%20cibl%C3%A9e

Two major characteristics define mainstreaming... First, it usually only applies to some children, most particularly those with mild disabilities. Second, the target population generally consists of students who are identified as needing special education sevices and who often move from special classes to regular classrooms. The Children's Oral Health Initiative(COHI) was developed as a means to address the disparity between the oral health of First Nations and Inuit and that of the general Canadian population. COHI was launched on a test basis in Fall 2004. COHI focuses on the prevention of dental disease and promotion of good oral health practices. The goal of COHI is to shift the emphasis from a primarily treatment based approach to a more balanced prevention and treatment focus. The initial focus for oral health promotion will be directed at three target groups : pregnant women and primary caregivers; pre-school children, 0-4 years of age; and school children, 5-7 years of age. Health Canada expects that the COHI, once fully implemented in subsequent years, will result in significant improvement of the oral health in First Nations and Inuit. 1, record 17, English, - Children%26rsquo%3Bs%20Oral%20Health%20Initiative

The term Attract & Kill(or Lure and Kill) is normally used for pheromone(or other attractant) based control methods that use an insecticide to kill the target pest. Mass Trapping, as the name implies, depends on the use of a mechanical device(insect trap) to remove the insect from the population. From a theoretical point of view, the approaches are very similar. Both methods rely on attracting the pest to a pheromone(or other attractant) source and removing the insect from the breeding population. 2, record 33, English, - mass%20trapping

2, record 34, French, - terrorisme%20parrain%C3%A9%20par%20l%27%C3%89tat

Much of the drop in the target student population can be attributed to non-transmission of the language at home. With a language continuity index of about 70% since 1971, the target student population is expected to drop even more sharply. The school definitely plays a role in this transmission and, clearly, measures that ensure the transmission of French must continue to be implemented, because the right to instruction in French will be lost if French is no longer used as a mother tongue by the target student population or as a language of instruction. 5, record 42, English, - language%20continuity%20index

1, record 53, French, - population%20totale
