Le M3 Carl Gustav est la principale arme antichar de courte portée (moyenne) utilisée au niveau de section par la Force terrestre du Québec qui emploie deux sortes de munitions pour l'arme. La première, communément désignée HEAT, est un explosif brisant antichar destiné à détruire les chars de combat principaux de l'ennemi. Elle a une portée utile de 700 mètres. La deuxième, désignée HEDP (explosif brisant à double fin), a été spécialement conçue pour détruire les bunkers et les positions fortifiées.
