Stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy are techniques to deliver high-dose radiation to a target with precise conformity to the target to create a desired radiobiological response and with minimal radiation dose to surrounding normal tissue. In this technique, the well-localised target volume is defined in three planes..., surrounding margins are minimal and very high doses are given over a short time period to ablate the tumour. The complication risks are reduced by decreasing or eliminating the margin of normal tissue from the tumour. When the total dose delivered stereotactically in a single session, it is called stereotactic radiosurgery(SRS), and if total dose of radiation is administered in more than one fraction, it is called stereotactic radiotherapy(SRT). 8, record 1, English, - stereotactic%20radiotherapy

Muscarinic acetylcholine receptors are members of rhodopsin-like G-protein coupled receptor family. They play several important roles; they mediate many of the effects of acetylcholine in the central and peripheral nervous system and modulate a variety of physiological functions, such as airway, eye and intestinal smooth muscle contraction, heart rate and glandular secretions. The receptors have a widespread tissue distribution and are a major drug target in human disease. The method by which incident radiation interacts with the medium to cause ionization may be direct or indirect. Electromagnetic radiations(X rays and gamma photons) are indirectly ionizing; that is, they give up their energy in various interactions with cellular molecules, and the energy is then utilized to produce a fast-moving charged particle such as an electron. It is the electron that then secondarily may react with a target molecule. Charged particles, in contrast, strike the tissue or medium and directly react with target molecules, such as oxygen or water. These particulate radiations are directly ionizing radiations. 1, record 13, English, - gamma%20photon

The third step is to fuse two tritium nuclei into one helium and two proton products. The end result of fusing four hydrogen nuclei (protons) is one helium nucleus, and two gamma ray photons, and two electron neutrinos, and kinetic heat energy. 2, record 13, English, - gamma%20photon

Gamma rays: A very penetrating electromagnetic radiation emitted from a nucleus of an atom during radioactive decay. Radiation: An emission of energy in the form of photons (gamma, x-rays) or particles (alpha, beta, positron, neutron radiation). Photon: A type of radiation in the form of an electromagnetic wave, having zero mass and zero charge. 3, record 13, English, - gamma%20photon

A secondary novel technology to which the Company has exclusive rights is that of antibody-targeted liposomes. This technology involves the incorporation of an antimyosin antibody into liposome membranes that serves to target the immunoliposome to cytoskeletal protein exposed by cellular membrane lesions. Upon anchoring the liposome to the cell via the antibody the liposome presumably fuses with the cell membrane and repairs the lesion. In vitro and animal model studies have shown that this methodology has been able to preserve cell and tissue viability under anoxic/ischemic conditions. This technology may be able to limit the extent of heart muscle damage during heart attacks and myocarditis. 1, record 14, English, - immunoliposome

Natl. Acad. Sci.
