Through the Family Violence Program, the Canadian Council on Social Development served as a source of current information on issues related to family violence in Canada.... The goal of the program was to get practical information into the hands of concerned individuals who used it to work towards the prevention of abuse. This was accomplished through special targeted mailings, presentations at workshops, linking individuals and groups, and developing useful resources like Workplace Learnings About Woman Abuse, the Voices of Aboriginal Women and Recent Resources on Dating Violence.... the Family Violence Program closed in July, 1996.
