La tarification sociale a pour but d'offrir un prix réduit aux personnes qui ne peuvent pas (ou qui peuvent difficilement) s'offrir certains biens ou services lorsque ceux-ci sont facturés aux tarifs pratiqués sur le marché. Il s'agit d'une stratégie à fort impact social qui retire certains biens ou services de la logique qui domine le marché à but lucratif.
