The Tobacco Demand Reduction Strategy(TDRS) [administered by Health Canada] was a three-year strategy introduced by the Federal Government in February 1994 to minimize the anticipated negative impact of tax cuts on the consumption of tobacco products. Several means of intervention were used under the TDRS to discourage smoking, including legislation and enforcement, public education and awareness, funding of community projects, media campaigns and research.

La Stratégie de réduction de la demande de tabac (SRDT) [administrée par Santé Canada] est uen stratégie triennale que le gouvernement fédéral a lancée en février 1994 en vue de minimiser les effets néfastes anticipés des réductions des taxes à la consommation sur les produits du tabac. Plusieurs moyens d'intervention ont été mis en œuvre dans le cadre de la SRDT en vue de décourager le tabagisme, notamment des mesures législatives et répressives, des mesures d'éducation et de sensibilisation du public, le financement de projets communautaires, des campagnes médiatiques et de la recherche.

ATDRS is the follow-on to the NASA TDRS satellites which provide communications coverage to satellites and manned vehicles in low Earth orbit. The new spacecraft will provide the same S/Ku-Band communications services as the original TDRS vehicles, and will also add Ka-band links.

The Thermal Control System(TCS) maintains the TDRS [Tracking and Data Relay Satellite] component temperature within acceptable limits during all pre launch, launch, orbit insertion and on orbit operations for the duration of the TDRS mission. The TCS consists of insulation blankets, radiator panels, thermostatically controlled heaters, and thermal coatings and finishes.
