Space weaponization is a subset of space militarization. If one envisions a natural sequence ranging from space systems not being used for any militarily useful purposes at all, to satellites providing services to support terrestrial military operations..., to satellites being integral parts of terrestrial weapon systems..., and finally to weapons themselves being deployed in space, weaponization occurs when the upper range of this sequence is reached. At its most extreme, space weaponization would include the deployment in quantity of a full range of space weapons, including satellite-based systems for ballistic missile defense(BMD), ground-and space-based anti-satellite weapons(ASATs), and a variety of space-to-Earth weapons(STEW), and these would play a central role in any type of military operations conducted by their owners. 3, record 1, English, - weaponization%20of%20outer%20space

The goal of planetary protection as stated in National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) policy is the prevention of forward and backward contamination. This policy applies directly to the control of terrestrial organisms contaminating spacecraft intended to land, orbit, fly by or be in the vicinity of extraterrestrial bodies. Viking mission landers were terminally heat-sterilized to decrease the risk of forward contamination to Mars and to assure that terrestrial microorganisms would not contaminate the life detection experiments. 3, record 4, English, - forward%20contamination

The earth's atmosphere is mostly transparent to the incoming solar radiation, and hence the above radiation from the sun is absorbed by the earth surface. Near infrared microscopy has shown potential to discriminate bone particles of fish origin and those of terrestrial animal origin in the sediment fraction of feedstuffs. In this study, the use of this method for the detection of processed animal proteins in the flotate is investigated. First, we show that it is possible to recognize animal particles in the flotate based on a spectral analysis. Secondly, the analysis of several spectra indicates that the near infrared microscopy could differentiate classes of animals. 4, record 28, English, - near%20infrared%20microscopy

2, record 28, French, - microscopie%20en%20proche%20infrarouge

Mitis Bay, in the Lower St. Lawrence region, has exceptional ecological characteristics and diverse natural habitats. For example, there is a bed of eelgrass(Zostera marina), an aquatic plant that plays an important role in the marine ecosystems of the St. Lawrence. Eelgrass beds are essential to aquatic and terrestrial fauna, offering them feeding, breeding and nursery habitat and shelter. Without the presence of these eelgrass beds, fine grains of sand are washed away and carried offshore, eroding coastlines. 2, record 60, English, - eelgrass%20bed

Dicrocoelium dendriticum is called the lancet liver fluke because of its characteristic shape. Unlike most other digenetic trematodes whose life cycles involve aquatic or marine hosts, the life cycle of this parasite is completely terrestrial involving a terrestrial snail as the first intermediate host and an ant as the second intermediate host. The definitive host, which includes sheep, cattle, goats, pigs and humans(rarely), is infected when it ingests ants that are infected with matacercariae. In the definitive host the parasite migrates into the bile duct and causes pathology similar to that caused by Clonorchis sinensis. This parasite is distributed throughout much of Europe and Asia, and it is also found in parts of North America and Australia. 4, record 69, English, - lancet%20liver%20fluke

1, record 87, Spanish, - balance%20radiativo%20de%20la%20Tierra

In order to provide a framework ensuring appropriate aquatic animal pathogen containment in Canada, a containment classification system has been developed that is similar to the systems used for human, plant, and terrestrial animal pathogens. The classification system for aquatic animal pathogens consists of three levels : AQC1, AQC2 and AQC3, with associated in vitro and in vivo requirements for AQC2 and AQC3. 1, record 97, English, - aquatic%20animal%20pathogen%20containment
