The Aboriginal Friendship Centre Program provides funding for the operation of friendship centres, the National Association of Friendship Centres and its affiliated provincial/territorial associations. Friendship centres are designed to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal people living in or passing through urban areas. Friendship centres provide a wide range of services and programs for Aboriginal people in the areas of housing, education, employment, recreation, and human resource development, and cultural maintenance.
