Uniform distribution is observed in plants that secrete substances inhibiting the growth of nearby individuals(such as the release of toxic chemicals by sage plants). It is also seen in territorial animal species, such as penguins that maintain a defined territory for nesting. The territorial defensive behaviors of each individual create a regular pattern of distribution of similar-sized territories and individuals within those territories. 1, record 1, English, - uniform%20distribution

The Government of Canada and its Provincial/Territorial counterparts introduced An Invasive Alien Species Strategy for Canada in September 2004. This Strategy aims to minimize the risk of IAS to the environment, economy, and society, and to protect environmental values such as biodiversity and sustainability. The strategy emphasizes four strategic goals : To prevent harmful intentional and unintentional introductions; To detect and identify new invaders in a timely manner; To respond rapidly to new invaders; To manage established and spreading invaders through eradication, containment, and control. While Environment Canada is the lead federal department on IAS, the IAS Strategy is carried out in cooperation with federal, provincial and territorial governments; non-governmental agencies; academic institutions; and individual Canadians. 1, record 7, English, - National%20Invasive%20Alien%20Species%20Strategy

1, record 7, French, - Strat%C3%A9gie%20nationale%20sur%20les%20esp%C3%A8ces%20exotiques%20envahissantes
