Pressure within an ice field can also be caused by tides. Tidal pressure is usually of short duration, lasting from one to three hours and, although less heavy than pressure from winds of longer duration, it can at times bring shipping operations to a halt. Tidal pressure can be particularly significant in restricted channels where the tidal effect is enhanced and ice movement is restricted. 1, record 1, English, - tidal%20pressure

1, record 1, French, - pression%20de%20mar%C3%A9e

High-frequency ventilation(HFV) is time-cycled positive pressure ventilation that delivers a high frequency(60-120 breathes per min) of small tidal volumes(1-5 ml/kg) that are usually less than the anatomic dead space. This type of ventilation can be accomplished been in 3 different modes : high-frequency positive-pressure ventilation(HFPPV), high-frequency jet ventilation(HFJV), and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation(HFOV). 1, record 2, English, - high%20frequency%20positive%20pressure%20ventilation

1, record 2, French, - ventilation%20en%20pression%20positive%20%C3%A0%20haute%20fr%C3%A9quence

Once a fabric is rendered impermeable as, for example, by impregnation and/or coating with vinyl, neoprene, elastomers, polyurethane, and so forth, an entirely new set of construction uses of fabrics arises. The fabric, being nonporous, can now be lifted by air to form an air-supported structure capable of wide variations of size and shape. it can also be water filled, taking the shape of the fabric under hydrostatic pressure to form various enclosures or barriers such as inflatable flood gates in tidal zones. Lastly, if the coating has structural stiffness, it, in itself, becomes a structural element. Its use is now unlimited for enclosures, roofs, partitions, and many other related uses. 1, record 3, English, - impermeable%20fabric

[Impermeable construction fabric:] Impermeable Fabrics. Once a construction fabric is made nonpervious an entirely new spectrum of construction uses emerges. These uses can be categorized in the following areas: Air-supported and tension structures. Water-filled structures. Self-sustaining structures. Such application can occur above ground, below ground, or in water. 1, record 3, English, - impermeable%20fabric

An outlet of a drainage system discharging to a tidal waterway which affects the liquid level in the conduit. It will discharge only when there is sufficient hydraulic head in the conduit to overcome the external hydraulic pressure. Tide gates are often used when external pressure is subject to fluctuation. 3, record 4, English, - tidal%20outlet
