DEF

A device used in oxyfuel gas welding or torch brazing for mixing and controlling the flow of gases.

CONT

Welding torches are sometimes called blowpipes. These torches are precision tools ... However all torches fall into two basic categories: injector type and medium pressure type.

OBS

welding torch: term officially approved by the Lexicon Project Committee (New Brunswick).

Domaine(s)
  • Soudage (Métal)
  • Soudage au gaz
CONT

Key term(s)

  • Welding and Soldering (Metals)
CONT

[The] air is mixed with the acetylene in the torch in the same manner as air is mixed with the gas in a kitchen range. When the air-acetylene mixture is ignited at the torch top it produces a flame with temperature of about 4000 °F, which is ample heat for almost all silver soldering jobs, brazing jobs and for all the soft solder work in the plumbing field.

Domaine(s)
  • Soudage (Métal)
CONT
