This problem applies to various potential future Mars Sample Return(MSR) mission architectures for returning samples from Mars to Earth including 1) a sample caching mission followed by a sample return mission where the caching mission rover would acquire and cache samples and a later sample return mission would have a fetch rover that retrieves the sample cache and return it to the landers Mars Ascent Vehicle(MAV) for return to Earth, 2) an Astrobiology Field Laboratory mission with caching which would provide the caching mission function while also including in-situ sample analysis, and 3) a combined sampling and return mission which would combine the sample caching and return to Earth functions.

Following that, it was used for several years of algorithm development and testing, including autonomous rock grasping, and wheel-terrain contact estimation techniques. From 2001 onward, it has been a test bed for CLARAty software development. Energy spectroscopy. For energy analysis the output current pulse from a PMT [photomultiplier tube] or from a semiconductor detector is often applied to a charge-sensitive preamplifier. The preamplifier produces a voltage pulse with a peak amplitude that is proportional to the total charge in the current pulse, which is proportional to the energy absorbed from the incident radiation. Amplifiers and filters are used to expand the range of the peak amplitude and to shape the signal from the preamplifier, a process that maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio for the system. For energy analysis the peak amplitude of the shaped pulse represents the information of interest. Discriminators and single-channel analyzers(SCA) can be used, following the signal shaping system, to determine the presence of certain energies of detected radiation. A discriminator produces an output logic pulse if it's input signal exceeds a preset threshold level. An SCA produces an output logic pulse if the peak amplitude of it's input signal falls within the energy window that is established with two preset threshold levels.

Additionally passive diffusion tube samplers were used to collect nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and ozone data over a wide area of each city. Finally a personal monitor was used to collect particulates for lead analysis.

Corn, the standard used for evaluating energy feeds, is grown in limited amounts, causing most feeders to depend upon out-of-state sources for shelled corn and ground snapped corn. By products of the citrus industry are citrus pulp, citrus molasses and a limited amount of citrus meal, with citrus pulp being the most important. Large quantities of citrus pulp are available each year for beef cattle feeding, and on a laboratory analysis basis, it compares favorably with ground snapped corn with respect to TDN(total digestible nutrients).

K-Means Cluster Analysis Results. The k-means algorithm is a clustering method which measures the proximity between groups using the Euclidean distance between group centroids. Beginning with an initial selection of k groups, this clustering algorithm allows to locate each respondent within clusters according to his/her distance to the nearest centroid. In total, 10 cluster solutions were tested using the Environics 1995 survey data. A scree plot of the derived proximity measure(in this case the Euclidean distance between group centroids) by the cluster solution is presented in chart 1.
