The result of dividing "Total Payments" by "Total Injuries". Although this statistic provides some indication of the relationship between the number of workers’ compensation claims and the total amount paid, caution should be used in attempting to interpret "Compensation Quotient" as a variation on "Payment per Claim". The reason is that the compensation totals shown cover all claims in that year, regardless of the accident or entry year, while the number of injuries relate only to newly-reported claims in that year.
