2, record 1, French, - effet%20de%20matrice

One of the important aspects determining nutrient requirements is feed intake. If an animal is consuming more total feed per day than normal, the level of nutrients, per unit weight, can be reduced. If the animal is consuming less feed than would normally be the case, then to satisfy the requirements, the nutrient density should be increased. Since the dietary intake is related in many cases to energy content, the nutrient content of the diet will vary depending on energy level. 4, record 12, English, - feed%20intake

This class of wheat is grown in the Great Plains area of the U. S. which includes the states of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming. In 1981, it formed about 40% of total U. S. wheat production. The wheat is a strong type(gluten quality) and its flour produces good bread. Its average protein content is in the range of 12 to 13%; normally it has good test weight(75 to 77 kilograms per hectolitre) and is low in moisture content(11 to 12%). With proper conditioning it gives good milling results. The most prominent varieties of this group in 1981 were Newton, Larned, Eagle and Scout. Hard red winter wheat has no subclasses for grading purposes. It is assigned numerical grades but has somewhat higher(2 pounds for No. 1 and 1 pound for other grades) test weights. 1, record 37, English, - hard%20red%20winter%20wheat

Altering the composition of the gaseous environment which a food product contacts reduces the rate of microbiological growth and enzymatic action, reduces the rate of oxidation, and also retards the loss of product water content through respiration of differential water-vapor pressure.... Controlled atmosphere packaging(CAP) means actually controlling the total gaseous environment the product experiences. In commercial practice, it usually means lowering the oxygen and raising the CO2 and assuring that O2 does not diminish to extinction while the respiratory gases are swept out. Oleoresin capsicum(OC) is an oily extract of pepper plants of the genus "Capsicum. "... It is used as a spice in salsa, chili, curries, and hot sauces; as a pharmacologic agent in topical anesthetic and analgesic creams; and as the principal active ingredient in OC spray, or "pepper spray, "used by police and others as an antipersonnel agent. OC extract consists of a complex mixture of fat soluble phenols known as capsaicinoids; capsaicin(trans-8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) and dihydrocapsaicin, the most potent homologues, make up 80-90% of the total. 8, record 48, French, - ol%C3%A9or%C3%A9sine%20de%20Capsicum

Within the soil there are metallic as well as hydrogen cations. There is an equilibrium between the cations and the negatively charged colloids on which they are absorbed. The total amount absorbed is called the cation exchange capacity or CEC and varies especially with the clay content and the amount of organic matter. The proportion of the metallic cations in the total CEC of the soil is the base saturation, which may afford a suitable measure of the acidity of the soil. The chief difficulty is that the MMV process produces close textured cheese which has led to two types of Feta :(1) Structured or conventional Feta and;(2) UF or cast Feta. Constant Volume Sampler(CVS). Motor vehicle exhaust is a complex mixture of unburned fuel, combustion products(including a high water vapor content), and intake air that exits the tail pipe at high temperatures. In simulated driving conditions on the dynamometer, the volume of the exhaust emitted from the tail pipe is continually changing depending on where in the driving cycle the vehicle is(for example, during acceleration, during deceleration, at constant speed, or at idle). To quantitatively determine emission rates from vehicles, we use a constant volume sampling system, which maintains a constant total flow rate of vehicle exhaust plus dilution air. With a CVS system, as exhaust flow increases, such as during heavy acceleration, the dilution air is automatically decreased and the sampling source is representative of exhaust variations. This CVS system provides the source for all exhaust samples collected(regulated and unregulated). Because some compounds present in the exhaust are soluble in water, quantitative transfer requires that the diluted exhaust be maintained above its dew point by providing sufficient dilution air through the CVS. In addition, sampling components, such as the raw exhaust transfer duct and sample lines, must be heated to prevent water condensation. 2, record 56, English, - constant%20volume%20sampling

2, record 58, English, - constant%20volume%20sampling%20system

Point detection refers to testing a sample that has been taken directly from the environment suspected of harboring the target agent. Needs in this regard include not only investigation of suspected sources of contamination but also monitoring the air/water systems in buildings for general pathogen contamination or contamination by specific biological agents. In point detection as in stand-off detection, many situations will demand neither exceptional sensitivity nor exceptional specificity. Assessment of the total microbial content may be sufficient to determine contamination and alert personnel to danger. 1, record 60, English, - point%20detection

1, record 62, French, - contenu%20en%20ozone

The LiMCA II system characterizes the cleanliness of a melt at time intervals of the order of 1 minute. It therefore monitors quasi-continuously, and in real time, the evolution of cleanliness along a cast, as a function of process parameters and melt-handling practices. The impact of furnace preparation, allowing practice, feedstock mix, settling time, and similar parameters on melt cleanliness, is easily determined. The effects of routine casting practices (metal level control, turbulence in the metal distributor) are directly observed as they take place. The time at which inclusion flushing from the holder starts at the end of a cast are determined for different sets of casting parameters, enabling the metallurgist to stop the cast at the right time to minimize the need for heel removal. 1, record 67, English, - liquid%20metal%20cleanliness%20analyser

1, record 82, French, - population%20cellulaire

It has long been known that some components of wood are relatively easily hydrolyzed. The application of hydrolysis for the degradation of certain carbohydrates to low-molecular sugars is based on experience gained in the total hydrolysis of wood.... During the Second World War, a number of pulp mills were built in Germany designed to use deciduous woods or straw in an alkaline cook with a prehydrolysis. The hydrolyzates were processed for the production of fodder yeast. By this process, deciduous woods and straw were treated at 120° to 130°C with 0. 5% to 1% sulfuric acid and, in a second stage, with a conventional kraft cooking liquor(22% sulfidity) with a maximum cooking time and temperature of 3 hours and 165°C to produce pulps with a high [alpha]-cellulose content. 2, record 84, English, - prehydrolysis

[...] 3, record 84, French, - pr%C3%A9hydrolyse

U. S. investments via Canadian mutual funds are safe from U. S. estate tax. If you own U. S. securities, even if they are in a Canadian RSP, then you are vulnerable to the tax. If you are near or past the $60, 000 mark in total U. S. situs assets(a notable exception being cash), consider backing out of direct ownership of U. S. securities and participating through Canadian mutual funds invested in the U. S. markets. It's something to watch, with the RSP foreign content limit rising and headed toward 20%. The IRS position is that U. S. situs assets held in an RSP are subject to U. S. estate tax. 1, record 85, English, - U%2ES%2E%20situs%20asset
