Embedded GPS INS. The EGI is in an all-attitude navigation system providing outputs of linear and angular acceleration, velocity, position, attitude(roll, pitch, and platform azimuth), magnetic and true heading, altitude, time tags, and time. When installed in the host platforms in the appropriate configuration, the system provides the navigation functions of the equipment it replaces. It uses vehicle electrical power(28 Vdc), turn-on and mode commands, initialization data, and altitude data, as well as Global Positioning System(GPS) satellite inputs for GPS or GPS/Inertial Navigation System(INS) operation, and is able to track five space vehicles simultaneously. 1, record 1, English, - all%2Dattitude%20navigation%20system

1, record 1, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20navigation%20toutes%20attitudes

Whereas RADARSAT-1 is a solely right-looking system, RADARSAT-2 will be outfitted with an antenna that can be steered electronically to acquire images to either the right or the left of the sub-satellite track... The switch from one look direction to the other is specified to take less than 10 minutes, that is, about one tenth of the time required to complete one full orbit. Although the look direction switching is an operational feature, the right-looking configuration is regarded as the default mode of operation. Hence, it is expected that about 75% of the imaging will be performed in this particular mode. The left-looking mode will be deployed on occasion, primarily to meet data requirements associated with Antarctic mapping and emergency situations(CSA, 2001). 4, record 2, English, - left%2Dlooking%20sensor

The mission will provide high-resolution radar altimeter measurements over the margins of the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets as well as over smaller ice bodies throughout the world. For this purpose, the main payload of the satellite is a new type of radar altimeter that combines several modes of operation : a classical pulse-limited mode; synthetic aperture processing for enhanced along track spatial resolution over sea ice; and interferometric processing with two receiving antennas to acquire across-track measurements over steeply sloping terrain. 2, record 4, English, - pulse%2Dlimited%20mode

V-bar : Flight Director Indicator... The V-bar command indicator is a pair of yellow, wedge-shaped V-bars that move up or down to command a climb or descent, and roll left or right to command a bank. The flight director system commands the V-bars to capture and track the selected heading or radio signals; or to maintain a desired pitch angle, glidepath, or an optimum speed during SC(speed command) operation. To satisfy the commands, the aircraft is maneuvered so that the airplane symbol is flown into the V-bars until the two are aligned. Input signals to the V-bars depend upon the mode of operation. The V-bars are biased from view by the instrument failure warning system; when loss of signal occurs, or sensing circuits fail that are associated with the selected mode of operation. They are also out of view when the mode selector control is in the OFF position. 3, record 5, English, - tendency%20bar
