Although dangerous problems require the line to be closed and repairs must be made before the track can be used again, more commonly a track inspector simply downgrades track by imposing a speed restriction that allows continued passage of trains without the need for immediate repair. It was determined that a combination of the centrifugal force and the dynamic forces generated by the track geometry conditions at a speed of 65 mph was sufficient to cause the derailment. The other type of meteorological payload that can be used on a meteorological rocket consists of a falling ROBIN sphere that is used when probing the atmosphere to over 100 km altitude. This ROBIN sphere is a spherical shaped balloon constructed of a thin (0.0001 mm thick) radar-reflective mylar material that is inflated with a small charge of inert gas to a known mass and volume. The dart containing the sphere typically reaches an altitude of 115 km where the sphere is deployed and inflated. When the sphere is inflated to super-pressure of approximately 10-12 mb, the sphere will reach a 1 meter (3.3. ft) diameter. I’ve noticed that many excellent cross country runners who rely on strength disappear during the track season, either because they lack the basic speed, or because that speed hasn’t been developed properly. RISC-reduced instruction set computer. The microprocessor, the VLSI chip that serves as the "brain" of a computer, performs all the arithmetic and logical operations within the machine. Microprocessors have become progressively more complex and more powerful, and include a richer, more versatile set of instructions. But noticing that "average" programs spend 90 per cent of their time executing about 10 per cent of the simpler instructions, some designers have taken a reverse track. Attempting to increase speed, they designed ;large, powerful microprocessors which perform only the simpler, faster instructions. RISC processors are used for some fancy workstations, but as our desire for computing power increases and the prices of workstations fall, workstations are becoming an option at the high end of the personal-computer market. 3, record 36, English, - Reduced%20Instruction%20Set%20Computer

The speed rating... combines three factors in its final figure. The first component is a raw speed rating that directly converts time and distance to a number.(For example, a horse receives one point for every 1/20th of a second it runs at a quarter-mile distance, and a point for every 1/25th at 350 yards.) The number then is modified with an Intertrack Variant(ITV), a number that allows for time and speed variations between tracks.... The third number involved in creating the speed rating is the Daily Track Variant(DTV). The DTV makes adjustments for things such as a slow track, wind, etc., that happen on a day-to-day basis and can even vary between races if conditions change. 2, record 38, English, - speed%20rating

Roller Derby. A match consists of eight 12-minute periods with men and women alternating periods on the track. During a period, the officials will designate specific 60-second spans(jams) during which designated skaters(jammers) from each team break away from the pack, circle the track, and attempt to lap opposing skaters to score points. A team is awarded one point for each opposing skater passed by a jammer. Players are permitted to assist their own jammers around the pack by pulling them or blocking opposing skaters out of the way and to prevent the opposing jammers from passing by blocking, jostling, or shoving. 2, record 43, English, - jammer

V-bar : Flight Director Indicator... The V-bar command indicator is a pair of yellow, wedge-shaped V-bars that move up or down to command a climb or descent, and roll left or right to command a bank. The flight director system commands the V-bars to capture and track the selected heading or radio signals; or to maintain a desired pitch angle, glidepath, or an optimum speed during SC(speed command) operation. To satisfy the commands, the aircraft is maneuvered so that the airplane symbol is flown into the V-bars until the two are aligned. Input signals to the V-bars depend upon the mode of operation. The V-bars are biased from view by the instrument failure warning system; when loss of signal occurs, or sensing circuits fail that are associated with the selected mode of operation. They are also out of view when the mode selector control is in the OFF position. 3, record 44, English, - tendency%20bar

The multi-aspect signalling commonly used in the UK today is a 4-aspect system. It works similarly to the 3-aspect system except that two warnings are provided before a red signal, a double yellow and a single yellow. This has two purposes. First, it provides early warnings of a red signal for higher speed trains or it can allow better track occupancy by shortening the length of the blocks. The high speed trains have advanced warning of red signals while the slower speed trains can run closer together at 50Km/h or so under "double yellows". 1, record 48, English, - multi%2Daspect%20signalling
