Anaplasmosis, also known as human granulocytic anaplasmosis, is a tickborne disease caused by the bite of a tick carrying the bacterium Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Two tick species, the blacklegged tick(Ixodes scapularis) and western blacklegged tick(Ixodes pacificus), are known to carry the bacterium. There have also been rare, reported cases associated with blood transfusion. 5, record 1, English, - human%20granulocytic%20anaplasmosis

Anaplasmosis generally presents with nonspecific symptoms such as fever, chills, malaise, headaches, and myalgias. On rare occasions, a rash may be present. The patient may also report nonspecific gastrointestinal (GI) or respiratory symptoms. A low number of patients manifest with life-threatening complications. 6, record 1, English, - human%20granulocytic%20anaplasmosis

The primary indication for whole blood is repletion of concomitant, symptomatic deficits of oxygen-carrying capacity and blood volume. Crystalloid or colloid solutions are administered to restore intravascular volume in patients with moderate hemorrhage. When blood loss approaches 25 to 30% of blood volume, there is a risk of hypovolemic shock; whole blood transfusion supplies red cell mass and plasma for volume expansion. 2, record 14, English, - blood%20transfusion

1, record 39, French, - h%C3%A9morragie%20post%2Dpartum

Record number: 40, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Hemovigilance is performed to meet three objectives at both the local and national level : to identify risks and their related factor(s) and monitor these risks. The alert function cannot be dissociated from epidemiological surveillance because both processes involve evaluating the impact of the preventive measures in place. The incidence of risks must be estimated and their evolution followed up for each type of recorded transfusion-related incident. At the blood collection level which is part of donor selection, the goal of hemovigilance is to assess the relevance of various medical indicators present in individuals who wish to donate blood. At the transfusion level, the goal of hemovigilance is to estimate the incidence of transfusion-induced side effects in recipients(e. g. viral or bacterial contamination, alloimmunization transfusion attribution errors). The incidence and prevalence of transfusion-associated incidents occasionally justifies the distinction between the three elements of the hemovigilance strategy : the alert system, recipient surveillance and blood collection surveillance. 4, record 40, English, - haemovigilance

Blood irradiator BI-2000. Applications : Irradiation of blood & blood products by gamma rays is a proven and safe method to inhibit T-Lymphocyte proliferation and eliminate the risk of post transfusion graft versus host disease(T-GVHD). Gamma irradiation of cellular blood components is the best current technology to reduce the risk of T-GVHD to the recipients as confirmed by research and therefore being widely practiced world over in hospitals and blood banks as a life saving approach to this problem. Blood is usually irradiated in standard blood bags in dedicated blood irradiators using cobalt-60 or caesium-137 radioactive source. The usual recommended radiation doses are 25 Gy to 35 Gy(1 Gy=100 rad) for this purposes. 2, record 45, English, - blood%20irradiator

Otherwise known as "transfusion-free", bloodless medicine and surgery is a state-of-the art approach to the proper management of a disease or condition. It employs both non-invasive medical care and invasive/surgical care as part of a strategy to avoid blood transfusion. Bloodless medicine incorporates the best, documented, rational approaches available, and should not be misunderstood as a less effective alternative therapy. 1, record 62, English, - bloodless%20surgery

Hepatectomy under stable arterial pressure is considered the best surgical method to preserve the viability of the isolated liver. When surgery was performed on dogs, liver transplantation with the application of 2 venous shunts(between jugo-femoralis and jugo-portalis) proved to be the best method. It caused blood decompression from the interior vena cava and portal venous system to the superior vena cava. Insufficient blood transfusion deteriorated the coagulation indices. Blood rehabilitation during liver transplantation was necessary. 2, record 79, English, - blood%20rehabilitation
