All Bt cotton plants contain one or more foreign genes derived from the soil-dwelling bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis; thus, they are transgenic plants. The insertion of the genes from B. thuringiensis causes cotton plant cells to produce crystal insecticidal proteins... 2, record 1, English, - Bt%20cotton

Gene Transfer to Related Plants. The introgression of genetic information from one plant to another is only significant if the two plants are sexually compatible and if their hybrid offspring are viable. In order to assess potential environmental risks associated with outcrossing from transgenic plants, the reproductive biology of the plant and distribution of sexually compatible relatives must be known, and the impact of the introduced trait, should it be introgressed into other plant species, must be understood. 1, record 2, English, - related%20plant

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is about to approve the first registration of a genetically engineered pesticidal plant -- a potato that produces a Bt toxin. Monsanto, a U.S. based, multi-national corporation, has placed an insecticidal toxin gene from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) in potatoes to kill Colorado beetles that feed on the plant. 2, record 7, English, - pesticidal%20plant

Plants engineered to contain new pesticides pose risks. Transgenic pesticide-producing plants, particularly when they are grown at commercial scale and consumed in large quantities, present risks to both the environment and human health. The ecological risks include : i) that the pesticidal plant will become a weed or harm nontarget organisms; ii) that the flow of pesticidal genes to wild relatives will produce new weeds or alter centers of crop diversity; and iii) that new viruses may emerge. 3, record 7, English, - pesticidal%20plant

Environ 20 % d'entre elles ont été développées pour servir comme une plante pesticide et le restant n'est qu'une combinaison entre les deux choses.
