TRANSIENT CLIMATE RESPONSE [2 records]

Record 1 2023-03-03

English

Subject field(s)
  • Climatology
  • Climate Change
DEF

The globally averaged surface air temperature increase, averaged over a 20-year period, centered at the time of CO2 doubling (i.e. at year 70 in a 1% per year compound CO2 increase experiment with a global coupled climate model).

Domaine(s)

DEF

Record 2 2020-10-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Scientific Measurements and Analyses
  • Climate Change
DEF

An experiment in which the time-dependent response of a climate model is analysed in response to a time-varying change of forcing.

CONT

If the forcing is allowed to evolve gradually according to a prescribed emission scenario, the time-dependent response of a climate model may be analysed. Such an experiment is called a transient climate experiment.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Mesures et analyse (Sciences)
  • Changements climatiques
CONT

On parle alors d'expérience climatique transitoire.
