Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. The purpose of this program is to provide funding to Tribal Councils to enable them to provide advisory services to their First Nation members and also to enable Tribal Councils to delivery programs and services, subject to the agreement of the First Nation members. The Tribal Council Program(TCP) is one component of First Nation Indian Government Support Funding Programs. The goal of Indian Government Support programming is to provide bands with assistance for the establishment and maintenance of effective local governance and administrative systems and the provision of programs and services to their members. Indian Government Support is provided for a variety of functions, including : pension and benefit regimes for eligible band employees; capacity development and training; and, where feasible and desirable, the regional administration of programs and services through tribal councils. The North Peace Tribal Council(NPTC) was incorporated in 1987 by the Beaver First Nation, Dene Tha’ First Nation, Little Red River Cree First Nation, Tallcree First Nations. The mission statement is to : address issues, resolve problems, share information and deliver programs and projects to achieve efficiencies by working together as Chiefs, Councilors and Elders and by engaging their first nation members.
