Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. The purpose of this program is to provide funding to Tribal Councils to enable them to provide advisory services to their First Nation members and also to enable Tribal Councils to delivery programs and services, subject to the agreement of the First Nation members. The Tribal Council Program(TCP) is one component of First Nation Indian Government Support Funding Programs. Introduced in 1984, this program operates under broad authorities provided by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development Act and derives its legislative authorities for the activity from annual Parliamentary appropriations and Treasury Board authorities.

Affaires indiennes et du Nord Canada. Le but de ce programme est de fournir un financement aux conseils tribaux pour leur permettre de dispenser des services consultatifs aux bandes membres et pour leur permettre d'offrir des programmes et services, avec le consentement des bandes membres. Le Programme des conseils tribaux est une des composantes du programme d'Appui aux gouvernements indiens. Instauré en 1984, ce programme fonctionne selon les dispositions générales de la Loi sur le ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien, reçoit des crédits parlementaires annuels et ses activités sont encadrées par une autorisation du Conseil du Trésor.
