TROPOSPHERIC PROPAGATION [9 records]

Record 1 2011-09-21

English

Subject field(s)

  • trapped propagation
  • propagation by ducting

French

  • Ondes radioélectriques
DEF

Mode de propagation selon lequel l'énergie se trouve en grande partie guidée à l'intérieur d'un conduit troposphérique.

Record 2 2010-07-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Waves
CONT

Long distance propagation can however be achieved by tropospheric mode mainly due to scattering from irregularities in the troposphere.

OBS

tropospheric mode: term officially approved by the Electronics and Telecommunications Terminology Committee.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Ondes radioélectriques
OBS

mode troposphérique : terme uniformisé par le Comité d’uniformisation des termes de l’électronique et des télécommunications (CUTEL).

Record 3 2003-02-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Telecommunications Transmission
  • Radio Interference
CONT

Tropospheric Fading. Tropospheric turbulence and small changes in the weather are responsible for most fading at VHF and higher. Local weather conditions, such as precipitation, warm air rising over cities and the effects of lakes and rivers, can all contribute to tropospheric instabilities that affect radio propagation.

CONT

Performance impairments occur on C- and Ku band satellite communications links because of severe tropospheric fading effects when the elevation angle of the ground station is very low.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transmission (Télécommunications)
  • Perturbations radio
CONT

Calcul adéquat des phénomènes entourant les ondes planes : réflexion, diffraction, réfraction, dispersion et évanouissement troposphérique.
