Electronic pocket dosimeter.... Small, light-weight portable radiation measurement apparatus provides accurate quantitative measurement of radiation dosage and dosage rates. Such apparatus, referred to as a dosimeter, is housed in a ruggedized housing that is only about 1/2 the volume of a package of cigarettes, may easily be clipped to clothing or carried in a shirt pocket, and is powered by a conventional alkaline AA-sized battery. Included in the housing are a geiger tube for detecting radiation, a high voltage power supply for providing power to the geiger tube, a counting circuit for counting geiger pulses generated by the geiger tube, a microprocessor circuit for processing the geiger pulses in accordance with a prescribed program to determine the dose or dosage rate to which the geiger tube has been exposed, and a digital display that displays the dosage rates thus determined. 2, record 3, English, - alarm%20pocket%20dosimeter

An air-filtering respirator that employs an electrically powered pump to deliver air to a face piece or head covering ... 5, record 5, English, - powered%20air%2Dpurifying%20respirator
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 CONT
A PAPR, powered air purifying respirator, is a positive air system that uses a battery to power a blower, which then pumps air through a filter into a mask or a hood. The blower, battery and filters are usually belt-worn, and connected to the hood or mask by a breathing tube. The clean, filtered, cool air flows into the breathing zone. The airflow is much higher than the wearer needs to breathe, and the excess flow creates a positive pressure as it passes through the mask. This pressure pushes out, and keeps contamination from leaking in. This is different from a normal gas mask, which uses the wearer's lung power to pull air through a filter. There are three types of respiratory protection: air-purifying respirators ["filtrants," "à purification d’air" or "à épuration d’air"], supplied-air respirators ["à adduction d’air"] and self-contained breathing apparatus ["autonome"]. Air-purifying respirators clean contaminated air before it is inhaled by passing the air through a cleansing media such as a mechanical filter, cartridge or filter/cartridge combination. The air is passed through the cleansing media by breathing or by a blower. These latter are called powered air-purifying respirators. 7, record 5, English, - powered%20air%2Dpurifying%20respirator

It consists in a glass tube filled with metal filings which acts as an insulator when placed in a circuit comprising a battery and a galvanometer.
