AC medium is a good primary isolation medium possessing unique growth promoting properties for both aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. It is recommended as a general culture medium for anaerobes, microaerophiles and aerobes. C'est un milieu de culture microbiologique d'utilisation générale (non sélectif) servant à cultiver une large gamme de micro-organismes (bactéries aérobies, anaérobies ou micro-aérophiles). Il est empirique (on ne connaît pas sa composition avec précision puisqu'il n'est pas purement synthétique). Celui qui est fabriqué par les laboratoires Sigma-Aldrich contient des peptones, des extraits de bœuf, de levure et de malt, ainsi que du dextrose, de l'acide ascorbique et de l'eau distillée. Tous ces ingrédients offrent un milieu favorable à la prolifération de diverses bactéries.

milieu AC : L'abréviation anglaise «AC» dans ces termes signifie «all culture», c'est-à-dire «toutes cultures». Ne pas confondre avec d'autres milieux de culture, car les lettres «AC» pourraient signifier, par exemple, un milieu contenant de l'acriflavine et de la ceftazidime.

Un «milieu» de culture bactérienne peut être solide (appelé «gélose») ou liquide (appelé «bouillon»). A lever used on a wheel hub, and sometimes a seatpost, that replaces the locknut for easy, no-tool removal or adjustment.

This system is most commonly found at the wheels hubs, replacing axle nuts for fastening the front or back wheels to the front or rear dropouts and allowing rapid removal and replacement of the wheel in case of a flat tire without the need for tools, by turning the lever through 180°. The system is also found at the top of the seat tube for clamping the seatpost into the seat tube and allowing the rider to raise and lower the seat while mounted. The levered quick release system may also be present at the front and rear brakes, this time as an adjustment lever that causes the caliper arms to spread, thereby allowing the wheel to be removed without deflating the tires.

The guide thimbles are structural members which also provide channels for the neutron absorber rods, neutron sources or instrumentation devices. Each thimble consists of a Zircaloy tube. The tube diameter at the top section provides the annular area necessary to permit rapid control rod insertion during a reactor trip. A tube well is type of water well in which a long 5 to 8 inch wide stainless steel tube is inserted in the well. Unicycles are composed of a few key parts : the wheel(which includes the tire, tube, rim, spokes, hub and axle), the cranks, pedals, fork-style frame, seatpost, and saddle(the seat of the unicycle). The wheel is usually similar to a bicycle wheel with a special hub designed so the axle is a fixed part of the hub. This means the rotation of the cranks directly controls the rotation of the wheel(called direct drive). The frame sits on top of the axle bearings, while the cranks attach to the ends of the axle. The seatpost links the frame to the saddle.

The Ausroc 3(A3) launch vehicle has a liquid fuelled motor that burns JA-1 kerosene with liquid oxygen, and uses regenerative cooling. The motor produces 35 kN at sea level and has a burn time of 80 seconds. The motor is gimballed to facilitate pitch and yaw control. The wall of the combustion chamber, throat and expansion nozzle consists of 102 stainless steel tubes stacked side by side running parallel to the motor axis. The tubes will be brazed together and the assembly wrapped in a carbon fibre composite. The composite wrapping is used to relieve to tubes of the hoop stress generated by the combustion pressure(2 MPa), whilst the tubes contain the combustion heat(3500 K). The top end of the motor has a kerosene inlet manifolt, oxygen dome and injector block. The kerosene inlet manifold delivers kerosene to every second motor tube, where it travels down to the arse end of the motor. Here it enters the lower kerosene manifold which is a simple plenum ring. This allows the kerosene to flow into the other alternate tubes which deliver it back up to the inlet manifold. The inlet manifold then directs the kerosene to the injector block, which sprays it and the liquid oxygen into the combustion chamber.
