A machine used for spinning staple yarn. It drafts the roving to the desired size, inserts twist, and winds the yarn onto a bobbin. The term is generally used to indicate a ring spinning frame, although it does cover flyer spinning and cap spinning on the worsted system.

Collecting the Medeco reward probably requires that you pick one of their newer Biaxial locks, which include the forward and backward pin alignments as well as left and right.... I believe that these are the biaxials. They are no big deal; the chisel points are offset forward or back by. 025". It effectively gives each pin twice the keying versatility, since the key cut can be the right depth and twist, but if it's not under the chisel tip, you lose. A master key for this system would have two cuts right next to each other that would address either offset [and I believe they would be at the same height, since it's difficult to cut two different heights only. 050" apart and have enough "meat" left to turn the pin].

reaction torque; reaction force: A torque (or force) exerted on a gimbal, gyro rotor, or accelerometer proof mass, usually as a result of applied electrical excitation exclusive of torquer (or forcer) command signals.

Claims include a reaction control system comprising : A motor; a motor housing; a weight mounted on said motor housing. When said motor accelerates in one direction, said housing tends to twist in the opposite direction because of counter reaction torque. Said weight mounted on said motor housing so as to tend to zero out the effect of counter torque twisting on said housing when said motor accelerates.

A system of spinning based on the concept of introducing twist into the yarn without package rotation by simply rotating the yarn end at a gap or break in the flow of the fibers between the delivery system and the yarn package. Because the twisting element can be compact and the mass of material to be rotated is small, very high twisiting speeds can be attained. The process, in a sense combines the traditional processes of roving and spinning in one operation.

Filature à fibres libérées ou open-end. La filature consiste dans le principe suivant : L'extrémité du filé en cours de formation tourne sur elle-même, tandis qu'on lui apporte une à une des fibres. Ces fibres sont prélevées dans une masse alimentaire qui peut être une mèche ou un ruban de carde par un procédé adéquat. Ces fibres ainsi prélevées échappent au contrôle de la masse des fibres alimentaires avant d'être incorporées dans le filé en formation. De là vient le nom de filature à fibres libérées.

Trois sociétés au Canada produisent des fils cardés par le procédé de filature à fibres libérées. [...] Dans le procédé de filature à fibres libérées, des rubans sont introduits directement dans des turbines qui tournent à grande vitesse pour produire des fils [...]. La filature à fibres libérées et la filature à jet d'air sont toutes deux de nouveaux procédés ... les tricoteurs opteraient certainement pour des fils peignés, produits par filature à fibres libérées ou à jet d'air [...].
