The mouth bow is the simplest stringed instrument, named so because it indeed takes the form of a small bow upon which a string made of fibre or reed is stretched.... To play it, one end of the string is held between the musician's lips, while it is plucked by the musician or struck with a thin twig. In this way the mouth works as a sound box. By expanding or contracting the oral cavity and by slightly opening the lips, harmonics can be created. Using another stick the player can damp the string, thus shortening it and producing a higher tone. In this way two fundamentals can be produced.

A means of resolving tied sets that have reached 6-all or 8-all, for example, rather than continuing in a theoretically endless deuce set in which one side must be two games ahead to win after 5-5 in games.

Tiebreakers are used to avoid marathon sets. The first player to win six games wins the set, unless the opponent has won five games. In that case, the player with six games may take the set by winning the next game. If that player loses it,(a) play can continue until either player wins two straight games, or(b) a tiebreaker may be played in which the winner is the first player to score seven points with at least a two-point lead. If the score reaches 6-6 in the tiebreaker, play continues until one player leads by two points.

Serve alternates during the tie breaker, which is won by the first side to reach a specified number, depending on the form of tie breaker.

Le premier joueur à remporter 7 points gagne le bris d'égalité et la manche, à condition de mener par au moins 2 points (7-5). A tennis court made of grass and known for its fast surface.

For play the grass is cut short, lower than two inches, and has the appearance of a golf green, although a grass court must be much sturdier to resist running and sliding. Because the bounce is low and the ball skids and skips, the grass-court game is extremely fast, favoring an attacking player with strong serve and volley who gets to the net quickly. This contrasts widely with the clay-court game and its premium on base-line play.

Handicapping in tennis... Known players are allotted a handicap annually that mirrors their competitive results.... Points are awarded as either received or owed odds in each group of six games of a set, according to your standard of play. Players cannot be given a handicap greater than owe 50, or more than receive 40... For the purpose of matching the handicaps of different handicap players, handicaps are also graded above and below scratch(the handicap of 0), where. 1 owed or received equals a handicap of 1/6 of 15 owed or received.... When both players are handicapped to receive points or both to owe points, they play on the difference of their respective handicaps. In the case of received odds the player with the less odds goes back to scratch(love) and in owed odds he goes forward to scratch.... when players meet with handicaps on either side of scratch, two points owed are equal to one received....

A version of minimax for zero-sum games. The minimax matrix is used again but its interpretation is changed. The playoff of the player whose choices are shown as columns, has the negative of the numbers shown on the matrix. One notes that the opponent now has a nested interest in giving up as little as possible... if both sides more conservatively they would both play "Don’t". This is a rather stable situation, different from the minimax one : here, no cooperation is possible between the two players. One gains exactly what the other loses.
