In June 2004, following the appointment of the new Comptroller General, a new Office of the Comptroller General(OCG) was established as a distinct organization in TBS [Treasury Board Secretariat]. Consistent with the focus on sound financial management in the OCG, other responsibilities that were under the former Comptrollership Branch now fall elsewhere in the Secretariat.

The Delta Marsh Field Station is a research and teaching facility located on the south shore of Lake Manitoba. It borders Delta Marsh, a "Wetland of International Significance" under the Ramsar Convention, and is one of the largest lacustrine marshes in North America. The Field Station property is part of a designated game-bird refuge and wildlife protection area, most of which was designated in 1987 as an ecologically significant area.

The National Artists Program, a federally funded project held in conjunction with the 2003 Canada Winter Games, will be held in Bathurst and Campbellton, New Brunswick from February 22 to March 8, 2003. Four participants from each province and territory between the ages of 16 and 23 years of age(one in each of the four disciplines) will be featured during the two weeks of the Games. The philosophy of the National Artists Program is to "bring together bright and talented young artists from each province and territory(representing a variety of disciplines) and challenge them, under the guidance of senior arts facilitators, to use the games as the inspiration for their art in order to see "the artistic and cultural dynamics that can be produced when the best of Canada's budding athletes come together with the best of Canada's emerging artists.
