Pool lighting equipment is available in both 120 volt and 12 volt systems.... The bulbs used for underwater lighting are not the same as those above ground. They are designed to operate at higher temperatures taking advantage of the water for cooling. This is important because pool lights will burn out if they are operated above the water surface. 1, record 1, English, - pool%20lighting

Sprays and jets are generally best illuminated from just under the surface of the water, which will then enhance the sparkle of the display. Luminaires used for under-water lighting should have a narrower beam spread than would be provided for open-air use, since this spread counteracts the diffusing effect of the water. 1, record 2, English, - underwater%20lighting

1, record 2, French, - %C3%A9clairage%20sous%20l%27eau

Augmenting the submerged luminaires and occasionally replacing them, a wide range of lighting fixtures is available that can illuminate water from the air while withstanding the constant spray from the water feature. This sort of lighting will add sparkling highlights to fountain displays, and it can be used where underwater luminaires are not possible. 1, record 3, English, - submerged%20lighting%20fixture
