Leading up to fall migration, a number of bird species are known to gather at large communal roosting sites, which are often detected by NWS [National Weather Service] Doppler radar. The unique doughnut pattern, known as a "roost ring, "is the result of birds departing their roosting site in all directions, roughly in equal densities. As they travel further from their roosting site and reach higher altitudes, they are detected by radar until they either rise above or drop below the radar beam. 2, record 1, English, - roost%20ring

1, record 2, French, - mise%20en%20enclos%20de%20femelles%20gestantes

It is true that most archaeans don’t look that different from bacteria under the microscope, and that the extreme conditions under which many species live has made them difficult to culture, so their unique place among living organisms long went unrecognized. However, biochemically and genetically, they are as different from bacteria as you are. Although many books and articles still refer to them as "Archaebacteria", that term has been abandoned because they aren’t bacteria--they’re Archaea. 3, record 8, English, - archaeon

Cladogenesis defines those cases of evolution in which one species develops into two or more through adaptation. The classic example is the different species unique to the Galapagos Islands, where small populations of creatures from South America evolved in response to their new ecosystem.... There is disagreement about what constitutes a new species, but it's generally agreed that if the mating of individuals from different populations cannot result in fertile and viable offspring, then they belong to different species. Cladogenesis explains the development of a large assortment of species from a smaller set of ancestral species through evolution. Unlike anagenesis, speciation through cladogenesis does not require the extinction of the ancestral population. Through successive cladogenetic splits, either with or without the extinction of the ancestral population, the total number of species increases over time. Cladogenesis is probably a more common form of evolution and speciation than anagenesis. 2, record 15, English, - cladogenesis

The Algoma Highlands Conservancy is unique because it is a bi-national organization seeking to purchase and protect 6, 000 to 8, 000 acres in the vicinity of King Mountain, which is almost 1, 300 ft. above the elevation of nearby Lake Superior. Such traits occur in species populations across southern Canada, as for example in outlying prairie remnants of southern Ontario, in Carolinian forest fragments of southern Ontario, in the many specialized dry areas across the southern prairies, and in the lower mainland valleys of British Columbia On this basis it can be expected that hundreds(thousands, if insects and other invertebrate species are included) of genetically and/or physiologically unique populations are found in Canada. 1, record 28, English, - physiologically%20unique%20population

1, record 35, French, - norme%20de%20diversit%C3%A9%20g%C3%A9n%C3%A9tique

However, positive identification is possible by following a logical sequence of exclusion, and finally comparing unknown fibers with authenticated fiber samples and/or photomicrographs.
