The Dental Division of the Primary Health Care and Public Health Directorate(PHCPHD) strives to improve, and ultimately to maintain, the oral health of the First Nations and Inuit at a level comparable to other Canadians. The Dental Division's efforts include the delivery and/or management of a broad range of oral health activities including proactive disease prevention, oral health promotion and dental treatment services provided by regional dental therapists and other First Nations and Inuit Health Branch(FNIHB) staff, as well as the staff of many First Nations. The key focus areas for the Dental Division are : Supporting the regional delivery of the dental therapy program; Managing the contract for the delivery of the National School of Dental Therapy(NSDT) training program by the First Nations University of Canada. Currently, 106 dental therapists from NSDT work either directly for First Nations and Inuit Health Branch(FNIHB) or directly for First Nations or territorial governments in the Regions and Territories and serve approximately 170 First Nations and Inuit communities. They are the key providers for FNIHB oral health initiatives. In addition to the services provided by dental therapists, Health Canada also pays for dental practitioner services for specified clinical services in First Nations and Inuit communities. La Division des soins dentaires de la Direction des soins de santé primaires et de la santé publique (DSSPSP) cherche à améliorer et, en fin de compte, à maintenir la santé bucco-dentaire des Premières nations et des Inuits à un niveau comparable à celui des autres Canadiens. Le travail de la Division des soins dentaires comprend la prestation et/ou la gestion d'une grande variété d'activités en matière de santé bucco-dentaire, notamment la prévention précoce des maladies, la promotion de la santé bucco-dentaire et les services de soins dentaires dispensés par les thérapeutes dentaires régionaux et autres fournisseurs de soins œuvrant au sein de la Direction générale de la santé des Premières nations et des Inuits (DGSPNI), de même que les membres de nombreuses Premières nations. La Division des soins dentaires privilégie les secteurs d'intervention suivants : soutenir la prestation du programme en thérapie dentaire à l'échelle régionale; gérer le contrat de prestation du programme de formation de l'École nationale de thérapie dentaire par la First Nations University of Canada. Introduction to the Organotin Environmental Programme(ORTEP) Association. In 1972, the International Tin Research Institute, in cooperation with global major producers of organotin compounds, set up at the Organic Chemistry Institute of the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands, an environmental research program to establish analytical methods for detecting trace amounts of organotin compounds. This work was published and enabled the first studies of mechanisms of degradation under laboratory and environmental conditions. At the conclusion of this research in 1978, companies from America, Europe, and Japan whose operations involved production of organotins founded the ORTEP Association. This organization established a database of technical and environmental information relating to organotin compounds, currently maintained in England.

The Geomatics Professional Development Program, International(GPDPI) provides non-Canadian geomatics professionals with the opportunity to develop their skills in a world-class geomatics organization. The Earth Sciences Sector(ESS) of Natural Resources Canada works with Canadian industry and conducts research in the following areas; remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems(GIS), the Global Positioning System(GPS), maps and charts, surveying, and geological sciences. Geomatics professionals are an integral part of each of these efforts. As a participant in the GPDPI, you will work alongside leaders in the geomatics field to complete a six-month project, tailored to suit your needs and learning goals.
