Air sparging is the process of injecting air directly into groundwater. Air sparging remediates groundwater by volatilizing contaminants and enhancing biodegradation. It is akin to blowing bubbles from a straw into a bowl of water. As the bubbles rise, the contaminants are removed from the groundwater by physical contact with the air(i. e., stripping) and are carried up into the unsaturated zone(i. e., soil). As the contaminants move into the soil, a soil vapor extraction system is usually used to remove vapors. 2, record 5, English, - air%20sparging

Barbotage. 1, record 5, French, - barbotage

Bioventing is an in situ remediation technology that uses indigenous microorganisms to biodegrade organic constituents adsorbed to soils in the unsaturated zone. Soils in the capillary fringe and the saturated zone are not affected. In bioventing, the activity of the indigenous bacteria is enhanced by inducing air(or oxygen) flow into the unsaturated zone(using extraction or injection wells) and, if necessary, by adding nutrients. 3, record 6, English, - bioventing

1, record 14, French, - tensiom%C3%A8tre%20de%20Richard
