2, record 2, French, - atmosph%C3%A8re%20r%C3%A9siduelle

[...] A slowdown in the normal flow of grain to a terminal may cause a shortage in supply available for immediate delivery. The holders of short futures positions in the near contracts would be unable to fulfill their commitments to deliver and would need to buy back their futures contracts in order to erase their commitment. At the same time, those who had bought futures contracts, in order to protect the price of a sale, would tend to hold onto the position to ensure that they would receive supplies. To attract sellers to take their positions, the shorts may have to bid for the nearby contracts until they reached a premium over the further contracts, thus creating an inverted market. 2, record 3, English, - inverted%20market

2, record 3, French, - march%C3%A9%20invers%C3%A9

In former times International Law empowered States when war was impending, or at its outbreak, to lay an embargo upon all enemy merchantmen in their harbours in order to confiscate them. Further, enemy merchantmen at sea could at the outbreak of war be captured and confiscated, although they did not even know of the outbreak of war. As regards enemy merchantmen in the harbours of the belligerents, it became, from 1854, during the Crimean War, a usage followed by some countries that no embargo should be laid on them for the purpose of confiscating them, and that a reasonable time, so-called days of grace, should be granted them to depart unmolested; but no rule was in existence until the Second Hague Conference of 1907, which produced a Convention(VI.) "relative to the Status of Enemy Merchant-ships at the Outbreak of hostilities». 3, record 5, English, - days%20of%20grace
