Literally, a crop in the process of growth, an unmatured crop. But a disputed term in legal parlance. Some authorities hold that a growing crop may be either above or below the surface of the soil, while other authorities hold that a crop is not a growing crop unless it shows above ground, and that underground sprouts do not constitute such a crop. Again, some authorities hold that a crop is growing from the time the seed is planted until the harvest, while other authorities hold that a matured, ungathered crop is not growing. Whether grass in a pasture is a growing crop is also a controverted question.(Ballentine's, 3rd ed., 1969, p. 538) 1, record 11, English, - growing%20crop

6, record 15, French, - jeu%20d%C3%A9cisif

One specializing in the recruitment and selection of middle and senior executives on behalf of client companies. These consultants are normally expert in selection techniques, including psychological testing and interviewing and assessment procedures. They usually handle recruitment advertising as an integral part of their recruitment and selection service. Often, they act as a kind of broker between applicant and prospective employer, sometimes undertaking not to divulge the applicant's name and identity to the prospective employer until and unless the applicant gives permission. In the case of vacancies for very senior appointments, a selection consultant may act as a so-called head-hunter or executive search consultant, seeking out suitable people in other firms rather than advertising for applicants in the conventional way. Selection consultants are usually independent organizations or individuals, or they may be Government sponsored bodies such as the Professional and Executive Recruitment service(PER) in the UK. A distinction should normally be made between selection consultants and employment agencies, these latter organizations being largely concerned with introducing office staff and unskilled or semi-skilled manual staff to prospective employers. 1, record 29, English, - selection%20consultant

Art. 1 of Convention(III) Relative to the Opening of Hostilities of the Hague Conference of 1907 provides that the hostilities between the contracting powers "must not commence without previous and explicit warning, in the form either of a reasoned declaration of war or of an ultimatum with conditional declaration of war". Moreover, under Art. 2, the existence of a state of war must be notified to neutral powers without delay, and would not take effect in regard to them until so notified, unless it were clearly shown that they were in fact aware of the existence of war. In the absence of such a declaration the legal effects of the war date from the commencement of hostilities if these are an expression of hostile intent.
