Models for the assessment of environmental impacts of air pollutants released in the vicinity of hills or mountains differ somewhat from the normal bi-Gaussian plume formula.

5, record 39, Spanish, - crecida%20repentina

The Vaccine Associated Adverse Events Surveillance System(VAAESS) has had its name changed to Canadian Adverse Events Following Immunization Surveillance System(CAEFISS). This new name is in harmony with international standards and emphasizes that reported events follow immunization but are not necessarily associated with vaccine. The Canadian Adverse Events Following Immunization Surveillance System(CAEFISS) was developed to provide a national monitoring system for reporting adverse events and suspected adverse events following immunization. The objectives of the system are to : ensure continued safety of marketed vaccines in Canada; monitor adverse effects that may be caused by a vaccine; identify any unusually high rates of adverse events, both with individual vaccines and individual lots of vaccine; provide timely information that can be made available to potential recipients as well as health care providers so that they can weigh the risks and benefits of immunization, and identify areas that require further epidemiologic investigation and research or problems that require immediate investigation. 1, record 41, English, - Canadian%20Adverse%20Events%20Following%20Immunization%20Surveillance%20System

1, record 41, French, - Syst%C3%A8me%20canadien%20de%20surveillance%20des%20effets%20secondaires%20suivant%20l%27immunisation

Superrefraction... causes radio waves to refract downward with a curvature greater than normal. The result is an increased flattening of the effective earth... It can be seen that an "N" gradient of-157 units per kilometer yields a "k" equal to infinity. Under these conditions radio waves are propagated at a fixed height above the earth's surface, creating unusually long propagation distances and the potential for overreach interference with other signals occupying the same frequency allocation. 4, record 43, English, - super%2Drefraction

The Utopia Pavilion was one of the most noticed of the five theme pavilions at Portugal' s World Exhibition in Lisbon. For the first time at a World or Universal Exhibition, a show was staged for over 3 million spectators. It took co-author and artistic director François Confino three years during which he worked with American, Canadian, French and Portuguese staff to see this incredible challenge through. Soaring effects and gigantic special effects were specially designed, and extremely complex mechanical systems bred movement into flexible materials and stage sets at an unusually large scale. Through close collaboration with Philippe Genty, the director, Oceans & Utopias enticed the audience on a fascinating journey through mythology, conquest and the anguish of those at sea known to everyone faced with the boundlessness of the ocean. 1, record 50, English, - Utopia%20Pavilion

1, record 50, French, - Pavillon%20de%20l%27Utopie

Gel spinning is a special process used to obtain high strength or other special fiber properties. The polymer is not in a true liquid state during extrusion. Not completely separated, as they would be in a true solution, the polymer chains are bound together at various points in liquid crystal form. This produces strong inter-chain forces in the resulting filaments that can significantly increase the tensile strength of the fibers. In addition, the liquid crystals are aligned along the fiber axis by the shear forces during extrusion. The filaments emerge with an unusually high degree of orientation relative to each other, further enhancing strength. 1, record 58, English, - gel%20spinning
Record number: 58, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The process can also be described as dry-wet spinning, since the filaments first pass through air and then are cooled further in a liquid bath. Some high-strength polyethylene and aramid fibers are produced by gel spinning. 1, record 58, English, - gel%20spinning

The main purpose for investigating postmortem metabolism of muscle is to help explain and control things such as PSE that have a practical, commercial importance in the meat trade. Watery pork that appears unusually pale and which has a high fluid loss when cut and presented for sale has been around for a long time, with the first scientific reports dating back to the early 1900s. In the scientific literature the condition is most commonly called PSE, standing for pale, soft, and exudative pork... Aromatic compounds contain unusually stable ring structures, often made up of six carbon atoms arranged hexagonally. Some of the compounds, however, have rings with more or fewer atoms, not necessarily all carbon. Furan, for example, has a ring with four atoms of carbon and one of oxygen. Also, two or more rings can be fused, as in naphthalene. The characteristic properties of the class, notably the stability of the compounds, derive from the fact that aromatic rings permit the sharing of some electrons by all the atoms of the ring, which increases the strength of the bonds. 3, record 67, English, - aromatic%20compound

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome(EDS) is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders characterized by defects of the major structural protein in the body(collagen). Collagen, a tough, fibrous protein, plays an essential role in "holding together", strengthening, and providing elasticity to bodily cells and tissues. Due to defects of collagen, primary EDS symptoms and findings include abnormally flexible, loose joints(articular hypermobility) that may easily become dislocated; unusually loose, thin, "stretchy"(elastic) skin; and excessive fragility of the skin, blood vessels, and other bodily tissues and membranes. 2, record 69, English, - Canadian%20Ehlers%20Danlos%20Association

2, record 99, French, - acheteur%20de%20double%20option
