Any perceivable change undergone by a food, through any cause, that renders it unwholesome or unacceptable for use. Spoilage is usually the result of enzyme or microbial action resulting, for example, in lipolytic rancidity, putrefaction, fermentation, or mould growth; but food can also spoil by other means, for example overlong storage, non-enzymic browning, or exposure to air or light. In practice the term is most frequently applied to categorising such deteriorative changes(other than food infection or intoxication) when caused by microorganisms. 4, record 5, English, - food%20spoilage

3, record 5, Spanish, - descomposici%C3%B3n%20de%20alimentos

Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Fish and fish products imported into Canada are inspected to prevent the marketing of unsafe, unwholesome or mislabled products. Increased inspection effort is directed at foreign processors which have demonstrated a history of poor compliance with Canadian standards. The costs of the Import Inspection Program are partially recovered. Importers must obtain an import licence and are also required to pay an inspection services fee for each shipment of fish imported plus examination fees for products that have a history of non-compliance. 1, record 8, English, - Import%20Inspection%20Program

1, record 8, French, - Programme%20d%27inspection%20des%20importations
