DEF

No distinction should be made between inculpatory and exculpatory evidence. The attempt to make this distinction in connection with the confession rule proved to be unworkable and was eventually discarded by this Court.

French

Domaine(s)

CONT

OBS

An "ugly baby" is a reality that is difficult to confront but impossible to deny because it is blatantly obvious.

OBS

Beware of the “Ugly Baby Syndrome. ” An “Ugly Baby” is developed at the concept phase and you can not put it back. So what happens? It gets dressed up to make it look OK. It hangs around for about 18 years because the factory will “adopt” the ugly baby and resist re-design. The moral of the story is that the concept phase is extremely important to prevent creation of an unworkable design that ends up staying around because no one wants to throw away something they’ve started working with.

DEF

Identifying letters, sometimes including numerals, assigned to radio and television stations by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other regulatory agencies throughout the world.

CONT

The use of call letters is almost as old as radio itself. As all early radio work was done in telegraphic code, spelling out an operator's name or location was unworkable or cumbersome. Under international agreement, prefixes have been assigned to various nations... In Canada call letters begin with "C", in the eastern states "W", while "K" call letters are generally assigned to stations in states west of the Mississippi.
