A territory that entered the Canadian Confederation in 1898 as the "Yukon Territory", out of the District of Yukon created in 1895 in the Northwest Territories. Until 1999, the Yukon used to stand eleventh in the order of precedence established according to the year of entry into Confederation of the ten provinces, then of the territories, listed, by convention, before the Northwest Territories even if the latter entered Confederation 28 years before. It now stands twelfth, after the Northwest Territories and before Nunavut. On March 27, 2002, the name was changed to "Yukon" even if the status of territory remains. 2, record 7, English, - Yukon

In every other case, the use of the definite article would be in keeping with common usage as it signals the absence of a generic geographic feature. The 12-hour clock is a time conversion convention in which the 24 hours of the day are divided into two periods called “ante meridiem”(“a. m., ” English :"before mid day") and “post meridiem”(“p. m., ” English :"after mid day"). Alternatively, the twenty-four-hour-clock system may be used. … In the United States, noon is often called "12 : 00 p. m. "and midnight "12 : 00 a. m. "With this convention, thinking of "12" as "0" makes the system logical. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language(Fourth Edition, 2000) has a similar usage note on this topic :"Strictly speaking, 12 a. m. denotes midnight, and 12 p. m. denotes noon, but there is sufficient confusion over these uses to make it advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight where clarity is required. "Many U. S. style guides(including the NIST website) recommend that it is clearest if one refers to "noon" or "12 : 00 noon" and "midnight" or "12 : 00 midnight"(rather than to "12 : 00 p. m. "and "12 : 00 a. m. ", respectively). … The use of "12 : 00 midnight" or "midnight" is still problematic because it does not distinguish between the midnight at the start of a particular day and the midnight at its end. Due to the profusion of English terms possible, care must be exercised when choosing the correct English term for a given context. When reference is made to a butterfly or moth in its larval stage, then terms that include the words "worm" or "caterpillar" would be more appropriate than those that include the word "moth", which normally would imply that the insect is in its adult stage. However what complicates matters is that the female species of this family of moths does not always develop wings in adulthood. Indeed several female species retain their larval form even in adult life, hence the confusion in usage and the abundance of terms in general circulation. Lighterage clause. It is essential to insert the so-called "lighterage clause" in charter-parties which show as port of discharge: any safe port in a certain range, e.g. Havre-Hamburg range. In this clause, "lighterage" is given the restrictive meaning of "lightening"(to put cargo in lighters in order to lighten the ship, to reduce its draft), instead of its original meaning(loading and/or unloading of cargo by means of lighters but for shipping purposes). Although to change thus the original meaning of lighterage is, strictly speaking, a misuse, the wording of the clause thus called sufficiently specifies its meaning to avoid any misunderstanding.
