Management can be defined as getting the right things done properly at the right time by making best use of the resources available to do the work. Tasks can be completed by on-site staff or by an outside contractor. This is known as a make or buy policy. The decision of which resource to use affects both the quality and the cost of the job. To maximize the long-term profitability of the building, it is advisable to consider whether on-site staff given their skills, available time and motivation should do the work. 1, record 1, English, - make%20or%20buy%20policy

1, record 1, French, - politique%20du%20faire%20ou%20faire%20faire

Diving Apparatus. Any equipment to enable a person to spend time underwater. Diving bells were in regular use in the 17th century, the diver breathing air trapped in a bell-shaped chamber. This was followed by cumbersome diving suits in the early 19th century. Complete freedom of movement came with the aqualung, invented by Jacques-Yves Cousteau in the early 1940s. For work at greater depths the technique of saturation diving was developed in the 1970s in which divers live for a week or more breathing a mixture of helium and oxygen at the pressure existing on the seabed where they work(as in work on North Sea platforms and tunnel building). 3, record 8, English, - diving%20apparatus

3, record 8, French, - scaphandre
