USE CASE ANALYSIS [4 records]

Record 1 2016-09-30

English

Subject field(s)
  • Information Processing (Informatics)
  • Testing and Debugging
CONT

A use case is typically a simple title that describes a user goal, such as "make reservation" in [a] hotel reservation system. Use case analysis is intended to provide an overview of business goals without knowing the system requirements in detail.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Traitement de l'information (Informatique)
  • Test et débogage
CONT

Un cas d'utilisation est une description de l'interaction entre un acteur et le système lui-même. Pour les besoins de l'analyse des cas d'utilisation, le système est considéré comme une « boîte noire ». Un acteur envoie un message au système, et une réaction se produit : des informations sont renvoyées, l'engin spatial change de trajectoire, etc.

Record 2 2012-05-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Epidemiology
DEF

Data based on the description of individual cases rather than controlled studies.

CONT

Additionally, anecdotal data may lack quantitative specifics and can come from sources that are not peer reviewed such as the popular media. In the epidemiology context, anecdotal data refers specifically to case studies, but other disciplines use the term to refer to pieces of information that are based on casual observations rather than rigorous or scientific analysis.

OBS

The plural of "datum" is "data." When "data" is used as a plural term, it may be perceived as a collective noun, which takes a singular verb. However, "data" can take a plural verb if attention is being focused on each individual piece of data (e.g. The data were transferred.). In both cases, the French equivalent should be in the plural form.

Domaine(s)
  • Épidémiologie
DEF

[...] informations tirées de descriptions de cas ou d'événements, par opposition à des données recueillies systématiquement qui peuvent être soumises à des tests statistiques.

CONT

Les données anecdotiques doivent être interprétées avec prudence, mais elles permettent parfois d'élaborer des hypothèses.

Record 3 2012-01-27

English

Subject field(s)
  • Law of Evidence
  • Courts
CONT

The use of statistical evidence in a jury trial poses specific problems for the parties and the attorneys. This is so in both civil and criminal cases. The effective communication of statistical evidence can be of critical importance to the jury's impression of the case. Statistical evidence in civil cases might involve business concepts, such as market share in an antitrust dispute or the analysis of the racial or age makeup of the workforce in an employment discrimination case.

CONT

A prima facie case established through statistical evidence may be rebutted either by evidence which offers a non-discriminatory explanation of the specific situation or by challenging the statistical evidence.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Droit de la preuve
  • Tribunaux
CONT

Une preuve prima facie établie au moyen de statistiques pourrait être réfutée soit par une preuve qui offre une explication non discriminatoire d'une situation particulière, soit par la contestation d'une preuve statistique.

Spanish

CONT

Un contenido exiguo porque [...] ni se reconoce la aplicación del principio de prueba o prueba prima facie o prueba de la verdad interina [...], ni aparece expresamente recogida la prueba estadística a los efectos de la prueba de discriminación indirecta.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Liver and Biliary Ducts
OBS

Index : Any numerical characteristic developed for use in the analysis of quantitative information; specifically, a number expressing the magnitude of a given quantity of a similar kind, or of itself at some other period, the latter in each case being given by convention the value 100(or other power of ten) in the scale of relative value.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Foie et voies biliaires
OBS

Deux types de solutions saturées en cholestérol ont été mises en évidence: les solutions métastables modérément saturées (...) les solutions réellement sursaturées, labiles (...) Le degré de sursaturation est donc vraisemblablement très important dans la formation des calculs.
