Many women have variations in their menstrual cycle, such as changes in frequency, duration, or amount of flow, or spotting between their periods. This abnormal uterine bleeding(AUB) may have various causes, some of them benign. But when AUB is related to changes in hormones that directly affect the menstruation cycle, the condition is called dysfunctional uterine bleeding(DUB).... Dysfunctional uterine bleeding occurs when the normal cycle of menstruation is disrupted, usually due to anovulation(failure to ovulate) that's unrelated to another illness. Ovulation failure is the most common type of DUB in adolescents and in women who are reaching perimenopause. 2, record 6, English, - dysfunctional%20uterine%20bleeding

Menometrorrhagia, defined as excessive and prolonged uterine bleeding occurring at irregular and/or frequent intervals, occurs in up to 24% of women aged 40-50 years. There are a wide range of causes of menometrorrhagia, although histological differences in endometrium between women aged <45 years compared with those aged 48-50 years indicate a much higher prevalence of myomas, adenomyosis, and dysfunctional endometrium(dysfunctional uterine bleeding, hyperplasia, neoplasia) around the time of the premenopause, emphasizing the importance of accurate diagnosis and appropriate management in women of this age group. 1, record 7, English, - menometrorrhagia

Uterine didelphys is a disorder present before birth in which a female develops two uteruses instead of one. In a typically developing female fetus, two ducts(channels) known as Müllerian ducts(the early structure within an embryo that develop into a female's reproductive organs), which began as two small tubes, join to create one larger organ, the uterus. If the tubes do not join completely, each tube may turn into a separate uterus. 3, record 9, English, - uterine%20didelphys

What is pyometra?... Pyometra is a secondary infection due to hormonal changes in a female's reproductive tract. Following estrus(heat), progesterone levels remain elevated for several weeks, stimulating the uterine lining to thicken in preparation for pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur for several estrus cycles, the lining increases in thickness until cysts form in the uterus. This condition is called cystic endometrial hyperplasia. The thickened cystic lining secretes fluids, creating an ideal environment where bacteria can grow. 1, record 26, English, - pyometra

To perform a Papanicolaou (Pap) test, the doctor scrapes cells from the surface of the cervix with a small wooden applicator much like a tongue depressor. Then, a small bristle brush can be used to obtain a sample of cells from the canal of the cervix. Le test de Papanicolaou est un test cytologique dont l'objectif est de détecter des cellules cervicales anormales. La procédure consiste à prélever avec précaution des cellules du col de l'utérus, et à étaler et fixer ces cellules sur une lame de verre. Regression of a corpus luteum. Two factors appear to be involved in luteolysis in most domestic animals; one being prostaglandin F2a and the other being follicular oestrogen synthesis. It has been suggested that PGF2a is the normal luteolytic compound, and that it is transferred from the non-gravid uterus to the ovary by some form of counter-current distribution between the uterine vein and ovarian artery. While the actual route for PGF2a transfer is in some doubt its physiological role is certain. 2, record 46, English, - luteolysis

A number of procedures for inducing luteolysis in domestic animals have been used. Anesthesia forceps are a vital tool in most operating rooms because of their unique design and applications.... Designed with a pair of scissor-like arms that are pivotally connected together, anesthesia forceps have a long and narrow working surface, which helps guide surgeons through the anesthesia procedure, while maintaining good visual contact with the patient’s internal structure. Some types of anesthesia forceps are designed with an alternative embodiment that provides a fourth bend near the guiding end of the forceps, which allows for easier insertion of a catheter in some patients, such as children. 1, record 96, English, - anesthesia%20forceps

2, record 98, French, - pince%20tire%2Dballe
